The Build

Seven stages. Every one by hand.

From bare chassis to finished van in our Rifle, Colorado shop. No outsourcing. No assembly line. Every van built by the same team, start to finish.

Step 01: Chassis Arrival — DM Vans build process
01

Chassis Arrival

A brand-new RAM ProMaster arrives at our shop in Rifle. We inspect every inch before we start — paint, drivetrain, electrical. If something's not right, it goes back before we touch it.

Step 02: Insulation & Flooring — DM Vans build process
02

Insulation & Flooring

Closed-cell spray foam throughout — ceiling, walls, doors, floor. No fiberglass batts that sag and trap moisture. This is what keeps you comfortable at 10,000 feet in January.

Step 03: Electrical System — DM Vans build process
03

Electrical System

Lithium batteries, rooftop solar, inverter, DC-DC chargers, and every wire run clean. This is the system that lets you boondock for days without plugging in.

Step 04: Cabinetry — DM Vans build process
04

Cabinetry

CNC-cut Baltic birch plywood, hand-fitted and assembled in our shop. No particleboard. No MDF. Real wood that handles years of washboard roads without rattling apart.

Step 05: Plumbing & Water System — DM Vans build process
05

Plumbing & Water System

Fresh and grey water tanks, 12V pump, stainless sink, and a faucet that actually works. Every connection is pressure-tested before the panels go on.

Step 06: Final Assembly — DM Vans build process
06

Final Assembly

Bed system, seating, trim, finishing details. Every surface is hand-inspected. Every drawer is opened and closed. Every light is switched on and off.

Step 07: RVIA Certification — DM Vans build process
07

RVIA Certification

An independent RVIA inspector verifies every system against federal safety standards. This is what qualifies your van for RV financing, insurance, and registration.

No particleboard. No fiberglass. No shortcuts.

Every material is chosen for durability, weight, and real-world performance. Here's what goes into your van.

Baltic Birch Cabinetry

CNC-cut and hand-assembled. No particleboard, no MDF, no press-fit connectors that rattle loose after 10,000 miles.

Closed-Cell Spray Foam

R-7 insulation throughout. Won't sag, won't trap moisture, won't grow mold. Keeps you warm at altitude and cool in the desert.

Battle Born Lithium Batteries

100Ah LiFePO4 cells that handle Colorado winters without flinching. 3,000-5,000 cycle lifespan. 10-year warranty.

Renogy Solar

Rooftop panels sized for real-world use. Enough power to run your fridge, charge your devices, and keep the lights on indefinitely.

Real Wood Countertops

Butcher block that looks better with age. Sealed and finished to handle water, heat, and daily use.
